Our old AC decided to just stop working right when the San Diego heat wave hit. Our apartment doesn't have central air, so the only room we had the AC was in the bedroom. I couldn't take the heat anymore, so I ordered this one and it came the next day. It doesn't fit the window perfectly, but it's close enough that I was able to seal any gaps. This is a very old building, so things have a tendency to not work correctly. Overall, very happy with the AC. Won't be using it much as we're heading into Fall and Winter, but I really like knowing it's there when we do need it. Thank you.

Such a simple, magnificent, awesome 5000 BTU window air conditioner! I purposely bought this because of the "old fashioned" knobs, I didn't want digital readout and thermostat in it. I've had problems in the past with other brands where the thermostat didn't work properly and the machine would shut down when it shouldn't have. So nice to just turn it on and it runs until I turn it off. And who needs a remote control for a window air conditioner? Have we become THAT lazy we can't get up, walk over to the machine and switch the controls. Come on people, maybe that is why obesity is rampant in America. All in all a wonderful unit that works great, just check out the amazing reviews and satisfaction of other purchasers too. The simpler the better. Highly recommended!

I bought this for my small bedroom (unsure of the exact dimensions, but I am sure it is within the specifications for this model). It has served me well so far this summer. In general, I find myself having to turn it to High Cool to actually cool things down. Not too surprising for a lower end model like this. Definitely do not purchase this if you have a larger room to cool.

Just like the last one™™s, cool the room 12 x 14™™ in 15 minutes the room is a bit too cold. Open the door to the kitchen and bedroom, and in about an hour the whole house is cooling down quickly.

I love this A/C! It™™s quiet and cools really fast. It replaced a GE that only lasted 6 months and warranty only offers coupon for replacement. Why would I buy another one? I™™m glad we decided on this Frigidaire. It™™s definitely made better.

Not having any issues and seems to work as it should. The only negative I have to say is if it is pretty hot outside it doesn™™t seem to push as cold air. Still cold but not as cold.

When I first received this unit, I thought that I had made the wrong purchase because I thought I might have bought too small of a air conditioner for the building that I put it in, because I put it in a 12 x 24 building that I use as a workshop But the building is insulated very well , but the air conditioner has worked extremely well and kept the building Plenty cool even in the hottest weather. .

Our central A/C conked out, so I brought out from storage a pair of window A/Cs (from 12 years ago!) to cool the house. They've done well, but I needed another unit in a 150 sq. ft. room that gets very warm in the summer. That's when I bought the Frigidaire 5,000 BTU window A/C. Very easy install, took less than 20 minutes to do it all by myself. The little guy takes a few minutes to get going when started, but once it does, the room cools down very quickly. I have tried it in both 'high' and 'low' cool modes, and the 'low' mode is enough to get the room nice and cold. I figure the 'high' cool setting would work to cool a 250 sq ft room, that's how good this little guy is. As always, only time will tell as far as reliability, but right now, this little guy is doing a great job.
